Hey! I’ve been reading and doing some research and I feel a little confused about the altar. Can I do my work there? Or does my workspace need to be different from my altar?

I was told to do work on a separate altar because it’s disrespectful to them.... just like if youre petitioning a deity.
Beautiful answer, thank you so much! It’s my ancestor altar. I feel so comfortable when I’m sitting there but a video said that’s one of the mistakes people make is using their altar for work. I got so confused!
I do some of my work there and depends on whose altar it is. If it’s my ancestors’, yes, bc I feel they guide a lot of my work. If it’s a deity, such as Papa or Erzulie, I do it separately.
