For the loa spirits, speak to them as well. You would follow the same instructions as above, except there is no seal to activate. The loas are activated through their veve (the symbol on the front of the loa candles Lala sells). For spelled candles, you can speak to the spirits of the herbs within the candle, and speak to the spirits Lala worked with while creating the spelled candles. Speak as you would speak to a living person.

She means speak your intention to the spirits. For example, for a conjured candle, you wouldn’t just put your petition under the candle without also speaking your desire.
