If I had burned the candles (Halo, Legba) last year in August/September timeframe, then burn Unhex this month, will it remove the work that I've done last year?

It depends on what you chanted in the unhex spell. Do you remember specifically ? You may have to redo Halo and Legba .

You have to specifically say remove negative workings only.
Yes. Unhex removes spells/curses that some people have had for years. It removes all spell work.
