I want to find out if we have to get permission from at least one person in a marriage to do work to help heal and unify them again. I feel like I must get permission but I wanted to get confirmation.

I completely understand the urge to want to help others you Carr for that may not be open to doing this work own on their own. It’s a judgment call. If you think their is love there and they just need a little help.... I don’t think there’s a problem with that but it’s totally up to you. It will work even if u don’t tell them, but do you want to control “their reality”?
