Can someone help me when I bury the candles do I put the lid on or off??

I thought it was okay to take the remaining wax out and bury with the other offerings
I’ve done both. I usually burn my candle with the lid under it. Sometimes my lid has been loose and I’ve been able to close the candle and put the petition + pic inside before burying. other times my petition & picture has gotten stuck between the candle jar and lid and I can’t take it off so I don’t even try to pry it off. I just bury it that way.
Uh will bury ur candles after ur candels completed burned if uh hv a petition then drop the petition in the jar & dispose it off..
