Is it alright to use another of your target (other than the one under the candle) to help visualize while you chant? Also is it okay to read your chant off a piece of paper?

Yes. Just make sure that the target isnt in the picture with anyone else, it should be just him. Also, it is okay to read your chant off of paper in hand. Spirit knows!
