Would it affect me or my candle and anyway if I was to burn it in someone else's home say at work I'm there 12 hours a day 2 days out of the week. Or should I wait and just do it at my own home?

That doesn’t matter . As long as you cleanse your work area and room . It will be fine because you are the practitioner.
