Hoodoo is American folk magick created by people of Color in the United States. It’s magick born in the US of slaves and former slaves and then perfected by people of color. Even though I’m White, I practice Hoodoo with respect to the ancestors knowing that it’s not my heirloom, but I’m a guest granted access to the wisdom. Ifá is a traditional West African spiritual practice originated with the Yoruba people of modern-day Nigeria. Ifá is like Santería in its purest form, without any Catholic or European influences.
