Watching The Conjure Family Season 2 had me in my feelings. 🤣
The way Lala listens to her daughters, sees them at the point they're currently at, and can remind them of both the progress they've made and where they can go, is so heartwarming. I did not grow up with supportive relatives at all. Like, "never heard mom say ILY" lack of support. In media we too often see unsupportive mothers or bad stereotypes of Afro, Caribbean, Southeast Asian, and Latinx mothers. We don't always get to see what Lala showed us. She wasn't judgemental or demanding. She GUIDED them through.
Watching this I realized not only have I never seen a healthy mother-daughter relationship at home, but I've never seen friends have that either. That shook me and drove me more to my goals.
If I have womb nuggets I wanna give them the love, support, and profound discernment I never received. May this next gen grow with all those things and keep passing it on.

Yes indeed! Lala is the all the great mother I thought she is. She shows her humanity, her passion, and her drive. She wasted no time going to her daughters to apologize and resolve any issue. She guides them. And you can tell the respect her daughters have for her. They sent to hate to disappoint her. And they are very protective of her.
