I just wanted to share with you that i burn my candle on top of 3 plates yesterday and the fire, yes, it burn a little bit the one on the top, the second one changed color and the third one nothing happened it it. This plates are well made and hot temperatures resistant.
I put a thick woven coaster on top of mine and then a heatsafe candleholder or cauldron. No burn marks or color changing!
I am sorry to ask - but are all 3 plates identical?
Try cleaning it with salt and vinegar , and always put a heat barrier (candle holder or other) between plate and heat
