No, you don't treat it exactly the same as a spelled candle, because there are still additional steps you take, because you are still conjuring and/or invoking Angels - they're actual entities, whichever way you choose to do it. So you should still do the offerings of Frankincense, water and anything else you choose to offer (optional), because you are asking them directly to perform something for you (which they can refuse to do as well).

The only similarity to a spelled candle is that you can chant rather than conjure and petition. But even after you're done chanting you still have to dismiss the angels/entities to go on their way. You don't dismiss with spelled candles because the spirits are attached to the to the roots and herbs in the candle (which make up the spell itself).
