Do I need to have an altar before burning my candle ? I’m new at this and before I receive my candles I want to make sure I’m doing it right ... or could I just used the materials that will be sent in with my package ??? I don’t know too much about how to set up an altar

An altar is not necessarily a requirement. Most people are already deeper into spirituality which is why they usually have altars. (Thank you for spelling altar right I’ve seen it spelled wrong so often I started questioning myself! Lol) You just want to have a clean space you can set up building something of an altar becomes a little more necessary when you burn candles like Papa Legba or Erzulie Freda.
