I am about to get initiated into the tradition of Haitian Vodou. On my father’s side great grandma was Haitian (don’t let my skin tone and eyes fool you - Poland and Haiti have a connection). While I did not buy the Erzuli Freda candle from Lala yet, I will. In the meantime here is what her altar looks like. Lots of pink, exquisitely fancy alcoholic beverages, sweet cakes, rose quartz crystals. In Vodou she is represented by Mater Dolorosa, or Our Lady of Sorrows, if you need a statue to go with it. I honor her on Thursday according with the tradition the Mambo, Vodou high priestess who is my mentor, told me to do. I also play Edith Piaf for her; she likes French things. Good luck with your work with this beautiful Lwa.

| have the Erzulie Freda Altar and the Angels Altar case. Lala stated that the case has room for additional Altars. Am I able to add the Erzulie Freda Altar to the Angels case?
@Anthony Thompson
@Dominik Ayibobo !!!! Hey I need ask you a personal question, Is there anyway I can send a message?
So cute!!!!
That’s how it is with her believe me I know lol ❤️ it’s beautiful 😍
My altar has evolved :-)
@Dominik What's the link between Poland and Haiti? I never heard that but I'm super curious.
Awesome! Did you get a reading from a priest? They will usually help you with finding out more about your heritage that was kept from you, and let you know what the spirits want you to practice.
I just got a reading done and was told that not only am I supposed to do Hoodoo, but that they want me to I corporate more Native American spirituality into my system.
My mother’s side of the family is Native, but I’ve never tried to practice anything because I was raised in black culture and I always felt like I didn’t know enough about my Native culture, and wasn’t raised in it to be able to “claim it” like that. Well, the spirits got me together on that one because I AM supposed to be practicing that as well.
Good luck with your initiation! 👏🏾
Beautiful Altar! 😍
Thank you all for your kind comments. I am proud to be a Polish Haitian Jew, even if my Haitian heritage is a few generations back.
Gorgeous.
So glad you are embracing your roots! I am also learning about my ethnicity too. Your altar is beautiful!!
I learned the Creole at home and English in school never know how to write in creole. I teach creole to my daughter and I speak English with her, I wasn’t born in Haiti my parents were and I never visit there. I wish I knew how to speak French. Canadian, French, Haitian and Dominican run in my mother blood.
Well my dear, welcome! I was born in Chicago but grew up in Haiti. Who knows why they kept that secret from you? As long as you can make peace with it and move on from them and love yourself embrace who you are, that I all that matters. Looks too me that you are in the right path. Embracing our truest religion “Le Vodou”. ❤️ . It is all about connecting with spirit !!
🥰🥰🥰 Embracing our native roots is the best thing! One Haitian to another! Ayibobo!!! Growing up in Haiti, I was surrounded by all of that but never understood and was always like “sa yap faim la, poukisa yap benyen mwen nan bagay sa” the Kid that I was. Lol. Now that I am conscious enough I can say that I am grateful for all of it.
