That’s interesting, I thought they practiced HooDoo in silence because they didn’t want “Massta” to hear them. .. this was a question I had at my chat & chew.
They spoke/sang in code with everything they did. Think of the song Wade in the Water, they would sing it to people who were escaping so their scent would be masked from the dogs. Of course they didn’t outwardly practice hoodoo but they’ve also incorporated elements of Christianity with it as well.
