Some say Thursday, others say Friday. I would do your research and go with the one more commonly used. I think Friday would be a good day to honor her. I no longer am her devotee but was for some time. My main lady is Erzulie Dantor ( @Lala Inuti Ahari please consider creating an Erzulie Dantor candle) now. But if you need any advice on Mademoiselle Freda, feel free to ask.

What if I live in a dorm ? Any advice on an altar. Ik I could use a jar or shoebox, but I worry about privacy and respecting (in my room) the Lwa space.

You can always create a little vanity set: a mirror, bottle of perfume, a few Godiva chocolates. Voila! You don’t have to have a candle. You can always get one of those pink electric/battery operated tea lights if the real thing won’t do. Spray sweet perfume in lieu of incense. Would you be able to manage that?
