I currently live at home and the only place for me to burn my candles are in my room. I noticed a lot of people decorated the set up for their candles and even put glasses of water out as they burned it. Is it necessary to do this when burning the candle or can I just light it on a clean surface in my room?

Water offerings are optional for spelled candles. For conjure candles, you do need water offering.
