Hi everyone! I’m new to this group. I recently received my order of an intense pot and I lit it for the first time around 11:45am this morning (Tuesday, 10/5/21) and it literally almost caused a fire in my house due to the large flames and thick black smoke coming from the candle that was setting off my smoke alarms. I literally have soot all over my walls and in my nose because there was so much smoke. I had to place a metal pot cover over it to snuff it out at 12:15pm (not even a full hour) because my normal sized snuffer wasn't working, nor was the lid of the pot. I’m really sad that I had to put the candle out because I‘m in dire need of its help. Can you guys give me some advice for safely burning the candle again with normal flames and less smoke? Please Help! Thanks!

Thx @Meana_💜♏️. I wiped off all three wicks before I lit them. Once they were lit everything in the pot was on fire, not just the wicks. it was to the point where the rim of the pot also had flames—very scary. Luckily I had it away from anything that could also catch on fire.
Make sure the wick doesn’t have glitter on it as well. I always lightly wipe the wick before lighting because it always have glitter on it that causes it to smoke black first.
I completely missed that post by Lala @Simplyme thank you so much for sharing the link to the post.
I would treat it the same way Lala does in the video. I am glad you are safe tho. Which pot is it? Does it have herbs?

Thanks you so much, @QueenMo I’ll try that in a few hours 🙏🏽
When any candle or pot gets out of control snuff it allow it to cool down and relight. If it does it again (although it shouldn’t) try lightning less wicks for the pot.
