So I been hearing lately that hoodoo/conjure/root work is a closed practice. I'm being told and seeing all over the internet that because I'm white that it won't even work if I try to conjure, because I'm not of African decent. I was like well dam, I just spent hundreds if not thousands on conjure candles. Someone please explain, I don't want to be disrespecting a culture if I have no business doing this work, or feel like I just lost thousands of dollars 😐 .

Black people always say that anyone can practice hoodoo on public forums, but on all black forums, they're really salty about non-black people practicing. Because if I mentioned Art of the Root or Roma or Lucky Mojo, Hoodoo practitioners are REALLY adamant about not supporting those practitioners because they're not black. So which is it? Are we okay with white people practicing or not? But to OP, I personally say, do whatever you want because no matter what, someone somewhere is going to have a problem with it. I suggest you don't pay any of those people any mind. Don't ask any questions, just do it.
Conjuring is not just Hoodoo. When you pray, you’re conjuring. Hoodoo is for those who have a bloodline to the African slaves. Even if you are white, you may still have ancestors who were Black slaves. Now what I have read from several different sources is that you can use Hoodoo but you must be sincere about it if you don’t have a bloodline connected to the slaves. You may also want to do some research. You never know who your ancestors are & who is willing to help you on this journey.
I will be honest with you. I’ve seen many other Hoodoo practitioners and workers who do say that you should be descended from African slaves to practice Hoodoo, and if you’re not, you must be invited into the practice. But I’m not gonna sit on aunties forum and tell her customers they can’t practice. If she says you can use her products then use her products. Maybe you should look within, meditate and ask yourself honestly “Is this my path?” I’ve even seen people say that non-black people should get readings to see if spirit approves of them practicing. Whatever you decide to do is up to you.
@Moonchild🌜 , I’m white as well, but I do mix hoodoo into my practice. I do however try to stay away from voodoo - I do feel like haven’t earned the right to call upon the Lwas. Conjure candles are a completely different story: Solomonic magic is centuries old and comes from King Solomon so I don’t think any one religion or people of certain descent can claim it.
There are people on this forum who are not of Aftican decent and still see results.
Girl check the forum there are tons of white people practicing and conjuring angels and demons is for everybody girl. Lol
Hey Hunny Bun..you're more than welcome to do your work through the practice of Hoodoo and if you ever need to find out if someone has already asked a question just go right up to the search bar in the forum. The algorithm is already set to generate the most asked questions...hope that helps babe. We're all on this journey together. I use that search bar for everythang lol
😬 [I'm no expert so I cant say and I'm sure lala is well aware of her diverse audience and clientele and wouldve left some sort of disclaimer] as someone of non African descent was there any particular reason for not doing any research before jumping into something as serious as hoodoo?
I believe Lala has addressed this several times & says that you are able to. @Lala Inuti Ahari
