If you’re looking for a substitute so you can burn the frankincense, I’ve seen resin incense burners that don’t require charcoal.They’re a tea light candle beneath a metal thing (where the resin goes). I think a person could make a homemade version using aluminum foil . Like, if you had a glass votive holder, and then you made an aluminum foil screen and then on top of that you made a foil tray for the resin?

I would also use Frankincense incense sticks, which are pretty easy to come by.
