Please forgive me for my ignorance, I have been drawn to the Queen Madame Marie Laveau for quite some time and now that her candle is back would love to have to. I have been reading up on her in the forum and I have seen people saying we must ask Papa Legba for permission before working with her. My question is this..I am not of African lineage and have the utmost respect for spaces that are not mine. With that being said, please correct me if I am wrong but I do not know that asking this of Papa is my place. Does that mean I should/could not work with Madame Marie or is permission not required when working from a place moreso or respect and admiration versus asking for things?

She is part of the lwa lineage now. It would be idea to ask papa permission first. Make sure you read up on the lwa also. Continue to work with your ancestors. Lwa usually choose ppl to work with them. You will know if you are chosen through signs and dreams. Voodoo lwa are different from other deities.
