Papa Legba's Feast Day

Today, June 13th, is Papa's feast day, which also happens to be my birthday. 🥳 (That explains why I feel such a strong connection to him.)

What are y'all doing to celebrate? I'm preparing food, Lighting Lala's Legba candle, dressing up in his colors, and wearing conch shell jewelry. And, of course, enjoying some rum and a cigar.

Can you share a picture of your alter for him?? I did purchase his candle and waiting on the alter.

I don't really like posting pictures of my altars, but I can tell you how it's set up. I have his altar set up in conjunction with my ancestor altar. I bought a 4-tier corner shelf, and on it I placed a statue of him, a mini bottle of Guavaberry rum (the picture of the man on the bottle reminds me of him), rose of Jherico plant (I keep pennies in the pot for abundance), selenite, toasted corn (I like giving him different flavors of Corn Nuts), candy, some handmade bracelets I bought from this really nice African gentleman I met in Germany, and of course, water. In front of that is my table where I have my ancestor altar set up.

On Mondays, I refresh his altar and I'll light a red candle, burn a little bit of tobacco on a charcoal disc along with pescado ahumado powder, and pour him a shot of rum (usually Kraken or Planteray 3 Star). Sometimes I do a shot with him. 😁
