Before lighting your candle, does a written petition have to be drafted and put under a spelled candle? I’ve seen a few testimonials, videos, and pictures with this and was just curious to if this was mandatory or simply a preference. I know when I lit mine I just used a picture and read my chants and petition from my phone but didn’t have a physical one drafted or actually under my candle. Thoughts please?

For a spelled candle optional, if you have a conjure candle with charcoal tablets and a seal its mandatory
