When do you all open windows when cleansing and saging? I’m seeing conflicting info on whether to do it before, during, or after

I def open windows during and leave them open for a while after to let the spirits out unless they will stay in and hide
I open my windows first then sage my whole house and leave it open for awhile to insure all negativity is out. Here is when i tweak it a little. I live in the midwest so its cold af i find a window with the air going out and i do my sage and cleansing there. Open the windows after to clear it out. So i would say to open them before and leave it open
