How does one smudge a high flame candle ? How can I prevent the smoke detector from going off.

The shower cap over the detector works. You just have to remember to take it off afterwards lol
Use the lid take the oxygen out of the equation, and someone posted to use a shower cap or cover the detector to stop it from going off or by a window.
