I did something similar for my family and did us as one unit and I see the positive effects . I used words like “my home, my children and my family” in my chant.
It depends what is on the petition and what candle you are burning. Maybe if you could give some more insight on the situation.

Candles can be used for up to 3 people. So whenever is in the petition would feel the effects.
