I’d like to use Papa Legba, but I know he needs his own altar. Do I have to keep that altar up even after I’m done burning his candle? I live in a small apartment and there just isn’t space for a separate altar to be up all the time. That’s the only thing that makes me hesitant about ordering. I want to honor him properly, so if I’m not able to I don’t want to do it.

I’ve seen people do ancestral altars in a wooden box. some have even done so for deities. something that they can put up quickly and put away quickly for privacy reasons.
This is a Yes and No type of question There is benefits to keeping his altar up so would recommend because that means his energy will linger around. Keep in mind altars down have to be “big” just intentional and done from a pure place. A spiritual Photo of his Veve , some offerings, and a Cup of water will do When you walk into a nail shop they have those small altars by the door... little do you know it keeps their clients Coming In!
Can u make space in ur closet? Shift some things around that maybe helpful. Like I rearranged my closet to make a little area
I'm following this thread for the answers too. My apartment is tiny and there's just not a single open space available for an altar so I always make an altar for the purpose of burning candle and wrap up after, wonder if this is okay and I'm not accidentally a sore in the eye of the spirits 😔
