Are the liquids we use as offerings, evaporating or is spirit drinking them? I have no doubt in my heart for the spirits and LWA I conjure, I’m just curious. If you leave alcohol in an open glass, it will evaporate.. Right? My Legba has been burning all morning (since 6) and the rum I put out in a shot glass is significantly lower than when I poured it.. I think his coffee is as well! Note: it’s 30-50 degrees where I’m at.

Hate to be that guy. But alcohol does evaporate faster than water. It has a lower boiling point than water. Not that it should deter you. I pour out for my ancestors
I’ve been wondering the same thing. I placed some Kananga water on my altar & it was sucked up. The coffee also was low but the plain water remained the same

Mine was down as well and papa legba took 3 pennies off my altar the next morning
Even if it is mostly evaporation, they're still enjoying it.
I say both but more spirit than evaporation.
Liquids don't evaporate that quickly. Spirits are definitely at work.

The same was happening with mine. I truly believe since it’s Spirit, that is lowering because of him liking the offering. I just removed the liquids from my altar today, reason I noted the rum was thick.
